- ['North Otago Rugby Football Union' defeated IBM Big Blue.]
Final game of NRFU with IBM Big Blue was done on November 12.
It scored a try gradually by stickiness of inborn and a strong contact, and came from behind and won with 38 - 28 (17 - 21 in the first half) though it was severe development from which it was deprived of three trys in the first half by IBM that had faced it by members of the first team.
Totaling result of this Japan tour is two victories one defeat by this.

- ['North Otago Rugby Football Union' First victory.]
NRFU defeated NEC Green Rockets on November 8, it gave them the first victory in Japan.
They splendidly won the seesaw game with 27 - 22 (17 - 15 in the first half).
A lot of players in NEC are active in the first team, so it was very impressive game.
The victory of one remainder game against IBM on November 12 is expected.

- ['North Otago Rugby Football Union' Welcome party was Hold!]
The welcome party of NRFU was held in the New Zealand(NZ) embassy cosponsored by NZ embassy, Sumitomo Corporation and us on November 6.
Parties concerned who support the tour of NRFU ; Japan Rugby Football Union, Suntory Limited, NEC, and IBM, etc. were invited, also attended by the NZ ambassador and his wife. Mr. Nagao, CEO & president, Mr. Tanaka, general manager of the business unit Osaka, and Mr. Haruna, general manager of the business unit Tokyo also attended from our company. It became a very lively party of 100 whole numbers.
After the greeting of a heart-warming encouragement of the NZ ambassador and CEO Nagao, NRFU introduced the folk dance 'Haka' that the Maori danced before the fight and it came alive very much. Afterwards we enjoyed delicious meal such as beer, wine, cheese, and mutton etc from NZ. It became a very happy party. - 11/6/2008

It comes to Japan so that rugby team 'North Otago Rugby Football Union' (NRFU) of New Zealand (NZ) to which 'Summit Wool Spinners', a group company of the Sumitomo Corporation in NZ keeps has been working for ten years or more as a the main sponsor may do the friendly match with some teams of Japan Top League this time.
NRFU is a rugby team that exists in NZ/Oamaru.
It belongs to Heartland Championship and the powerful team that has won the league championship in fiscal year 2007.
In this Japan tour, the friendly match with three powerful teams of Japan Top League(Suntory Sangoliath, NEC Green Rockets, and IBM Big Blue) is scheduled.
Please expect it of the activity of two remainder games though the game with Suntory Sangoliath on November 3 was regrettably defeated by 17-28 (3-28 in the first half) .
Beside, the welcome reception is held in the NZ embassy in co-sponsoring of our company and Sumitomo Corporation on November 6.
